Attila Boa ist freischaffender Kameramann und Autor.
1966 in Bern geboren studierte er einige Jahre Philosophie und Theaterwissenschaft
und arbeitete im Film auf Seiten der Produktion und auf dem Set in verschiedenen
Positionen von Regisseur bis Beleuchter.
Er war Assistent von Kameramann Prof. Wolfgang Thaler bei vielen Filmen
rund um den Globus und bei einigen Filmen von Ulrich Seidl. Seit zwei
Jahrzehnten arbeitet er als Dokumentar- und Spielfilmkameramann für
Regisseure wie Michael Glawogger, Markus Imhoof oder Hannes Schmid. Bei
künstlerischen Filmprojekten hat er mit Künstlern wie Allan
Sekula oder Muntean/Rosenblum zusammengearbeitet. Bei internationalen
Naturfilmproduktionen spezialisierte er sich auf die Arbeit mit schwarmintelligenten
Insekten, zuletzt in "More than Honey". Beim Dokumentarfilm
"Effi-Hasi" 2011 übernahm er gemeinsam mit Dominique Gromes
die Regie.
Mit dem Essay "Zur Verteidigung der Traurigkeit" (Verlag Bibliothek
der Provinz, 2015) legte er seine erste Prosaarbeit vor.
Er lebt in Wien und im Waldviertel.
Attila Boa is a freelance cameraman and author.
Born 1966 in Berne he studied several years philosophy and dramatics and
worked both on the production side as on the film set in various positions
from director to grip.
He was assistant cameraman to Wolfgang Thaler on many projects around
the globe as well as on several films by Ulrich Seidl. He since then worked
as cameraman with directors like Michael Glawogger, Markus Imhoof and
Hannes Schmid and was involved in film projects with artists such as Allan
Sekula and Muntean/Rosenblum. He specialized also in international wildlife
films, like the 2013 cinema release "More than Honey".
The essay "Zur Verteidigung der Traurigkeit" (Verlag Bibliothek
der Provinz, 2015) is his first published book.
He lives in Vienna and in the Waldviertel.
